Dark brown with deep ruby highlights and capped by a large, ricky, beige head. Cocoa aroma with some very faint molasses, dark fruits, and roasted malts. Body is smooth, but a tad watery. The chocolate and roasted malts shine through in the flavor much more than the aroma would lead you to believe. Is there some berries in the finish? If so, they’re too faint to really pull out. Ends with bittersweet roasted malts. Not bad, but a little one sided.

Pours real dark brown, almost black, with cream colored head. Nice dark chocolate aroma and taste with some dark fruit, and some coffee. Minor overtones of raspberry. Not overly hoppy, leaves a nice lacing. Pretty good porter.

Pour is a black with a little red shining thru. Aroma is had you coffee-chocolate combo but very faint. Flavor also has some earthyness and roasted malts but oveall quite watery. Very easy to drink with nothing offensive. I’ve had better.

MN Ratebeer Winter Gathering, January 10, 2009. Black color with a thin head. Light malt and sugary aroma. Taste is about the same. Much sweeter than most porters.

Black. Standard roasted malt aroma with a medium palate. A very drinkable, and ordinary porter. Well roasted malt.

Tasted 1/8/09. 22oz bomber. Dark and opaque with a layer of khaki head. Fudge and caramel in the nose with a touch toast and earthy. Medium bodied with a good malts and a mildly dry finish. Toasty and a bit buttery. Rather smooth with moderate acidity. A pleasant sweetness in the mildly cloying, sticky finish. Just not quite enough body. Not bad, just not enough...

Last beer sampled at MN Gathering II and shared by Badgerben. From a 22-oz bomber pours a dark cola brown brew with a thin off-white head that quickly dissipates to a fine film and white ring. Aroma of toasted dark malt, chocolate, a hint of roasted coffee and even some smoked wood. Taste is medium bodied, some carbonation with flavors of roasted dark malt, chocolate coffee and some dark pitted fruits. Finish has a light bitterness with a toasted dark malt and floral hop aftertaste.
