bsjay (54), Oregon, USA Oct 15, 2009 Had this in their beer "garden" on a very hot day. Not enough shade back there at that point (this was years ago) but I remember this being refreshing in that context, but nothing special, and noting that AV has enough great things to offer than to bother with a ho-hum wheat beer. harbuck76 (127), El Cajon, California, USA Jul 5, 2009 22 oz. pours a golden/yellow with a average head. Aroma is very weak wheat with hints of lemon. Flavor is weak also. Maybe it was a bad bottle. It is refreshing, but kinda flavorless. blutt59 (2042), Dallas, Texas, USA Jun 12, 2009 bottle, almost transparent gold with slight soapy foam, aromas of sweet malty fruit, flavor is weak clove, cardboardy, sour lemon, lasting bitter carruthm (1110), Seattle, Washington, USA May 4, 2009 Super clear light pale yellow with almost no head. Aroma of lemony citrus and grassy hops, kind of reminds of a cough drop smell. Flavor is somewhat bitter, somewhat wheaty with a somewhat metallic aftertaste. Beerdedone (1873), Croydon, Pennsylvania, USA Mar 22, 2009 Bottle. Pours a golden yellow with a small white head. Aroma was wheat, citrus, yeast and notes of light spices. Mild wheat flavor with lemon, tangy citrus and subtle grain and floral notes with a light to medium body and has a crisp clean finish. nuplastikk (1157), Madison, Wisconsin, USA Feb 5, 2009 12oz bottle. I can remember drinking 22s of this circa 2001. Cloudy orange tan color. Mild tangy aroma. Pretty straightforward American Wheat Ale. Crisp initial mouthfeel quickly fades into malt sweetness. Some mild lemon citrus flavor in there. A decent beer but certainly not one of AV’s best. anders37 (4516), Malmö, Sweden Jan 9, 2009 Draft @ AVBC, Boonville, CA. Rating #3000. Pours a pale yellow color with a small white head. Has a wheat malty slightly spicy aroma with some hints of citrus. Sweetish wheat malty flavor wit hsome yeasty hints and some hints of citrus. Has a sweetish wheat malty finish with a crisp aftertaste with hints of citrus. SuperDave70 (1157), Beautiful Sunny Mesa, Arizona, USA Oct 31, 2008 Slightly hazy, deep gold color brew with a foamy head that sticks around. Aroma of citrus, wheat, yeast and some hoppy spice. Flavor is lots of wheat and lemon, with the hop spiciness on the finish. Medium bodied, but smooth on the palate. Refreshing. Not bad at all!
