Grass, citrus rind and biscuity malt to balance it out. Despite the abv this beer finishes nice and dry. Damn fine ale. 6/4/7/4/16 branspra (224), Arlington, Virginia, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Nov 30, 2008 Bottle. Pours a dark orange color with a large, bright white head. Lacing is very good. Aroma is all hops, with hops of citrus and pine mainly owning the smell. Smooth and creamy texture with a nice balance of bitter and smooth aftertaste. Good IPA. can8ianben (903), Pasadena, California, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Nov 27, 2008 Had it on tap at the Yard House. Tasty and hoppy. Aroma is pungent and spicy - notes of pine and grapefruit. Amber/orange in color with a thin fading head. Flavor is sweet, then citrusy, then strongly bitter in the finish. Almost more bitterness than the malt can handle, but still pretty solid. Bah, I’m a sucker for IPAs in any state. MrBunn (1539), Western, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Nov 19, 2008 Bottle. Pour is a coppery amber with a smallish head and aromas of floral hops, a bit of a scotch-like peatiness and some mild caramel malts undertones. Flavor is much heavier in malt than I expected from the nose, and the hops balance things out nicely… a bit of a floral and resin bite balance things out nicely and finish with a scotch-ale-like aftertaste. This is pretty good, but it reminds me more of a scotch ale than an IPA. dkachur (2379), Charlottesville, Virginia, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Nov 16, 2008 12 ounce bottle. Pours an orange-amber color with a large
off-white head. Nice lacing and retention. Floral and citrus hop
aroma. Bitter hops taste, primarily citrus, with some leafy notes
and malty sweetness. Medium bodied with a sticky texture. Strykzone (1481), Wood River, Illinois, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Nov 15, 2008 A copper colored pour with an attractive golden orange head that fades slowly and unevenly. Thick oily lacing remains. Plenty of visible carbonation. Aroma is sweet, floral, fruity, and lightly spicy. Quite bitter with all kinds of stuff going on in the flavor. Grapefruit that grows in prominence, light caramel, pine, honeysuckle, and candy cookies. Complex, interesting, and tasty! presario (2982), Calgary, Alberta, Canada
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Oct 30, 2008 Amber with a fair head. Quiet woody scent. Starts delicate in the mouth and then moves towards a sugary spicy joy. Beer relaxes into a woodsy middle with the same joy in each finish. Unique flavour profile which is unusual after so many hoppy beers. bkurtz (276), Peru
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Oct 25, 2008 Poured amber with nice head. Bitter hops hit you right away. Almost too hoppy, as they stay with you for awhile. Good brew, but would like a smoother finsh.
