Pours a hazy, pale copper with a fluffy, off-white head and patchy lace. The nose is of lightly spicy and floral hops over a sweet, toasted malt body. Light to medium-bodied with a bitter-hopped finish that lingers on the back of your tongue. The flavor is a bold blend of floral, spicy and mildly resinous hops over toasted pale malt. The hops definitely steal the show with this beer, and while it is quite drinkable, "balanced" is not a word I would use to describe this one. This is a refreshingly different variation on the west coast IPA. Frohike (10), Santa Cruz, California, USA

Nose was floral. Mouthfeel was a little heavier than expected, as were the honey notes in the malt. The pine finish brought out the strength of the hops with a bitterness that lingered for a bit but wasn’t overpowering.
Excellent beer. BiddleBrau (332), Midland Park, New Jersey, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jun 9, 2008 Amber with white head that left nice lacing. Aroma is floral hop, grassy and citrus. Hops most evident in the flavor but malt is present to add some balance. Not overly bitter, well rounded. Nice body although there is a slightly cloying aftertaste. A good IPA. Spicy hop bouquet here with honey, allspice, and coriander present. Flavor is resiny pine, floral with a significant bready malt backbone. Nicely done. travita (1952), Frisco, Texas, USA

A really nice looking slightly hazy amber color with a thick frothy head that lasts for a long time. This has some crazy lacing. A little bit of a floral nose, but mostly rich butterscotch. Same goes with the flavor. Mostly a malty butterscotch with a touch of citrus hop. Not a whole lot of bitterness, but a pleasant flavor. Very drinkable. medium body with a little lingering bitter. sneagrams3 (1759), St. Louis, Missouri, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | May 27, 2008 Tasted 5/27/08. 12oz bottle. Clear and amber hued. Finger width off-white head. Bright hoppy aromas. Sugary hop notes. Circus peanuts and grapefruit. Medium bodied. Solid malts and Dry bitter soapy hops. Tart and resinous. Bitter and fruity. Truly hop driven, but the base malts are nice with a subtle medium roast. This beer really does flow from the aroma as the beer nears your lips into the flavor and the palate. High on the bitterness scale, but still in the upper eschelon.
