Sep 20, 2009 12 ounce bottle enjoyed at my sister and brother-in-laws condo. Pours a light copper color with a one finger width white frothy head and a good amount of carbonation. The aroma consists of hops, citrus, and light pine. The taste is very typical for an IPA and is very good... it has a nice hop bite, some citrus and a nice malty background. Finishes a bit bitter and leaves you wanting more. Overall, this was a unexpected surprise for me. Nothing terribly special, but this is exactly what an IPA should be in my mind...

Sep 19, 2009 22oz bomber. Again, unfairly rated due to the tail end of a cold still congesting my senses. STILL...this is clearly a wonderful beer. The nose (what I can get from it) is surprisingly light. The beer pours a red copper with thin lacing. On tasting the first hit is almost a lager flavour which quickly shifts into the honeyed malts the commercial description touts, then the hops rush in to subdue that with a slightly citric and crisp finish. I think, taking into account my impaired sense of smell, the commercial description is actually bang on. Not sure if it bites like a rattlesnake but if that snake had venom made of decongestant I’d be happy to pick a fight with it. Worth trying.

Sep 16, 2009 Pretty standard IPA. Perhaps doesn’t deserve this high a rating by that standard, but it’s solid, cheap and available. Piney, a bit malty but not overwhelming. Balanced, which is more than you can say sometimes about an IPA.

Sep 13, 2009 It poured a hazy dark golden liwuid with a small white foam. It had a strong scent of grassy hops, grapefruit and citrus. It also had a taste with allot of grassy hops, citrus and grapefruit, yet the bitterness wasn’t as insane as I expected. Great thirst quencher, very enjoyable beer.

Sep 11, 2009 Bottle (in NZ), pours a beautifully clear copper colour with a pillowy head (which laces well). Piney and citrus hops on the nose, as you would expect from a West Coast IPA. Caramal malt on the palate, which is toppled by a big mouthfull of orange hops with plenty of dryness in the finish. A pretty fine example of a West Coast IPA, though perhaps a little grainy for my liking.

Sep 6, 2009 Cloudy iced tea color as it pours. Piney medicinal bitter hops flavor. Malty sweet aroma. Overall it’s well hopped and easy drinking.

Sep 5, 2009 Bottle from GBBF had at home with the guyz. Alround rating: Nutty caramalt, bit of cardboard, not very hoppy and quite a bit of minerally earthyness. Im guessing this was old but they hadnt dated the beer.

Sep 3, 2009 Poured from 12oz. Golden amber in color, with a floral nose with a hint of hops and citrus. Nice sweet malty taste on the bitter side. Overall a decent IPA, good value for the money at Trader Joes.
