| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Aug 19, 2009 Bottle. Pours a clear, dark, copperish-amber hue with a thick head of lasting, rocky, light khaki foam. Sticky swaths of bubbly sheet lacing coat the glass well. The aroma is bold, but well balanced, notes of rich biscuit, caramel, and honeycomb countered nicely by a bounty of floral and citrus hops. Flavors follow suit, following more of an east coast vibe with biting grapefruit and orange peel bitterness balanced by substantial caramel and biscuit malt. The profile is surprising for a California brewer. Big bodied, with balanced carbonation, the mouthfeel transitions from slightly syrupy to semi-dry and bitter on the finish. Overall, a pretty solid brew, but not exactly what I look for in an IPA. yalnikim (782), Wellington, New Zealand
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Aug 18, 2009 Tasted 10/08/20009. 12oz bottle from beerstore. Meh! Tired mess of jellied malt and soapy hop. It’s another really well made US IPA but the old mantra is true: fresh is best. Maybe I’ll have to take a trip. mar (1903), Dallas, Texas, USA

| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 5/5 | 14/20 | Aug 16, 2009 Nice copper color with a thick white head. The nose says, "Hey, I’m an IPA... Drink me!" On first taste, I’m tasting honey - serious honey, with a nice bitter hit on the back end. Not sure if it’s the honey or not, but great mouthfeel on this one. | 2.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 2/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | Aug 10, 2009 An unclear golden orange beer with little to no head. Aroma was very sweet with no detection of hoppiness. Taste was very sweet, syrup like taste, caramel, & mild bitterness. This is an IPA? Too much malt & not enough hops. I would like to forget this beer so maybe if I drink enough I will, but I’m glad I bought a single & not a 6 pack beergod (103), Austin, Texas, USA
