Anderson Valley Hoppy Mendo Estate

A great bitterness that only comes from fresh hops. For a fresh hop IPA from Anderson Valley I was excited, but this one failed to achieve. Could have been a MUCH bigger beer. Way too thin, bad metallic notes. I like the estate hop gimmick and I love fresh hop beers but this one failed to hit the mark.

On tap at Toronado SF. This amber ale poured with a decent off-white head. There is a smooth caramel malt flavor with a sharp piney hop bitterness at the finish.

Draft. Amber beer with an off-white head. Low grapefruit and pine aroma. Nice piney flavor with malt backing, grapefruit, and earth. Definite wet hop flavor. Medium bodied. Pine and grapefruit linger with malt and a light earthiness.
