snifter @ beverage place barleywine bacchanal - dark amber with slight haze and thick white head; aromas of fruit and sugar; drinks sweet with a little syrupy texture; strange almost sour finish to it though

Tap @ The Front Door Boise: A dark mahogany color with a thick retentive fuzzy head. The nose is bright in malted fruitiness; raspberry, caramel sweetness and a pleasant floral citrus hop note. Very little alcohol in the nose but warm as it goes down. Doughy malt body with a full and pleasing drinkability. Really nice barleywine, just a tiny bit too sweet for me in the tail, but one glass is perfect of BW anyway.

dark hazy amber, thin head, dripping lace, sweet malt aroma, rich malt flavor, balanced but not overpowering hops leaving an underlying bitterness through the finish, just a hint of a hot ester in the aftertaste

Hops and honey in the nose, amber color, low lathery head. Heavy body with flavors of syrup and berries. Sweet think malt turns to a fairly reserved dry spiced end. Like a wee heavy with carbonation. Wow!

2006 Beer of the Horn: A solid nose to pallet to finish transition. One of the most exhilarative barleywines at the Lucky Lab’s 2007 tastival. Potent and endearing citrus tinge with a nice fruity bite. Mmmm!

Draft. amber beer with a thin whitish head. Earthy, malty aroma. Sweet malt flavor that’s quite sweet. Some hops backing. Suller bodied. Lingering sweetness.
