| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Feb 17, 2008 Tap @ The Front Door Boise: A dark mahogany color with a thick retentive fuzzy head. The nose is bright in malted fruitiness; raspberry, caramel sweetness and a pleasant floral citrus hop note. Very little alcohol in the nose but warm as it goes down. Doughy malt body with a full and pleasing drinkability. Really nice barleywine, just a tiny bit too sweet for me in the tail, but one glass is perfect of BW anyway. kp (8500), Woodstock, Georgia, USA

dark hazy amber, thin head, dripping lace, sweet malt aroma, rich malt flavor, balanced but not overpowering hops leaving an underlying bitterness through the finish, just a hint of a hot ester in the aftertaste
