On tap at Redbones: Cloudy orange with a thin off-white head. Sweet malts create a deep brown sugar aroma, thick oily and fizzy. Rich long taste that starts bitter and then turns sweet. Ends dry, and loses some sweetness as it warms.

Intially I was thinking American Strong Ale, but as it warmed up that changed.Hazy copper color.Huge hop and malt character.Bitter/sweet, orange/citrus flavor with a touch of caramel.

This barleywine isn't too complex. Smokey, caramel flavors are the persistent throughout but it seems as though they pulled their punch on the malt. As it warmed, more complex flavors were accentuated - fruit, caramel and some spices. Guess it just takes some time for this barleywine to open up and show it's true potential.

amber body with adequate carbonation, a thick, pillowy tan head. Sweet, real sweet! Dry fruits, apples and spices, awesome nose. caramel and pale malts come through, especially in the mouth. great balance. Big, full mouthfeel, rich, big barleywine mouthfeel. Alcohol stands pretty tall, but the great depth of ripe and dried fruitiness balances so well.

A glowing ruby rust brown color with a big ass slightly dirty white head. Has a sweet, spicey, licorice aroma. Weak, watery, tastes like spicey water. Unimpressive.

Big head ontop of a transparent gleaming amber body..the frothing is icy and sparkling and turns lumpy as time marches on..Very spicy, musty aroma with hints of sage and cinnamon, and maybe a little orange peel..Very smooth, light bodied, almost nutty...slight bitter backing..not overpowering at all..spicy in all the right ways..this is by far the easiest drinking barley-wine..super drinkable, clean, and non-offensive

On tap at the 2003 Toronado Barleywine Festival: Wonderful creamy initial impression as this hits your tongue. Unfortunately, it goes south from there. Flavor completely dies once this beer fills your mouth.

Tap @ The Buckhorn Saloon in Boonville, CA. Cloudy dark amber with a laced tan head. Some dark fruits and caramel. The alcohol is present but not overwhelming. Thanks to Kathleen for showing the patience.
