| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Jul 3, 2006 Fairly light bodied brew from the bottle, pale gold color with a small head. Taste is simply just hops, citrus, pine, and a bit of malty sweetness. Simple, yet very effective recipe with a well balanced taste. vyvvy (2068), Hazelwood, Missouri, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jun 28, 2006 Pours copper with a generous rocky off-white head. Aroma has clean grainy malt with hints of hops, but not much. Medium / light bodied with moderate carboantion. Taste has husky grains and spicy hops. The finish however is all hops, quite bitter with some pine and bits of citrus. After a bit some of the caramel is noticable in the background. Nice pale ale, but not nearly as good at their IPA which is the same price at my shop. stegosaurus (1882), Levittown, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jun 22, 2006 Bottle. Pours golden with a small white head. Aroma of citrus, sweet malts, and a slight hoppiness to the nose. Flavor is sweet malts, citrus, pine, and finishes with some bitterness. Good body, drinkable. bethmatt0421 (320), Covington, Kentucky, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jun 17, 2006 A nose more like a premium lager, piney and bitter. Flavor is surprisingly more bitter (hoppy) than i expected for a pale ale. Flavor is hops, great malts, sweet. People say that pale ales are boring and lacking this, or that. This is definitely proving them wrong. A kick ass pale ale, and another good brew from the boys at AVB. eaglefan538 (2403), Wilmington, Delaware, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jun 11, 2006 Just another APA in my book. Nothing done wrong here, maybe a bit thin on flavor and mouthfeel, but this one didn’t stand out (who can’t brew an APA like this?). Western US hops were present: resinous, pine, light citrus. Pretty thin on the mouthfeel and only ok on the flavor. Go with the ESB if you want a better APA tasting beer. wheninhell (486), louisville, Kentucky, USA

| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | May 31, 2006 Bottle. Deep golden color with small head. Light citrusy and floral aroma. Also the flavor is light with malt, citrus, orange and some sweetness. Citrus, malt and some bitterness in the finish. This bottle has some symptoms of oxidation. | 1.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 1/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/20 | May 19, 2006 Bottled. Hazy light copper color with a white head. Aroma of honey and dirty feet- I’m not kidding! Rather middle of the road flavor, more on the malty side. I cannot drink it however since I can’t get it to my mouth without smelling it.
I will have to re-rate this beer, this (I Hope) may be a bad bottle. I’d never expected to Anderson Valley to make something like this.
