Commercial Description:
Each year, when people are starting to unpack their winter clothes and replenish their firewood, our tiny brewery in the coastal redwoods of Northern California makes seasonal preparations of a different kind. As the cold arrives, we release a unique beverage created to add warmth to even the coldest and darkest of winter's days. Winter Solstice Seasonal Ale begins with a very high original gravity to create a hearty and spicy brew with a deep amber hue and a smooth finish. Anderson Valley Brewing Company wishes you the very best for the holiday season and the New Year.

On tap. Clear, reddish color with a medium beige head. Good roasted cherry, malty aroma with some slight spicy scents. Fruity, smooth, caramel flavor. Med/thin mouthfeel. Really tasty palate. Nice malty finish. Very good winter beer.

I have been pretty pleased with what I have had from this brewer so far so I jumped at the chance to try this one. Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this brew pours a chestnut color with a small tan head. The aroma is faint but sweet and malty. The flavor is a complex mix of caramel, nut, burnt sugar and toasted malt. There is a undertone here reminiscent of toasted marshmallow. The finish is rich roasted malt. A lovely beer overall and one I will be keeping an eye out for in the future.

Amber color with long lasting tan head. The aroma is quite sweet and full of malt presense. Smells like sweet biscits. Very inviting aroma with chocolate undertones. Full creamy sweet flavor and feel. Very much malty and full on the palate. there is a nice chocolate character that comes in fairly late and lingers nicely. The finish is a bit warming and slightly chalky.

Thanks Turbo, he gave me this one and said it would not disappoint you. He was right. The spicy and fruity aromas were there and the citrus finish was great. Dark amber body with off white head that diminished, Great beer will have to get some more.

Amber tan body with lightly spiced nose. Very malty palate blending with the hops. Finish is easy and lightly sweet.

Thanks to Argo I believe for this one. 2003 vintage as well. Bit on the sweet and malty side of the fence. Decent

i was glad to come across this one, as i have wanted to try it for a while. sweet malty and rich, this one is really pretty good. pours out a dark brown color that seems to be a traditional color from the beers in the spice category. something i would recommend, a pretty nice brew all in all.

Pours a dark orange with a nice white head. Aroma is sweet and the flavor is very holiday. A nice sample indeed.
