Commercial Description:
Each year, when people are starting to unpack their winter clothes and replenish their firewood, our tiny brewery in the coastal redwoods of Northern California makes seasonal preparations of a different kind. As the cold arrives, we release a unique beverage created to add warmth to even the coldest and darkest of winter's days. Winter Solstice Seasonal Ale begins with a very high original gravity to create a hearty and spicy brew with a deep amber hue and a smooth finish. Anderson Valley Brewing Company wishes you the very best for the holiday season and the New Year.

certainly warms the body on cold winter days. a nice dark amber color with a thin of white head. Sweet aroma with caramel and spice notes. Taste was sweet with caramel, cinnamon nutmeg and some corrainder. Seemed to have a nice alcohol presence for 6.9%. Reall smooth.

Tap. Deep copper color. Whiteish head. Decent lacing. Nice sweet and somewhat spicey aroma. Malty, spices and for some strange reason chocolate flavors mix well. Medium bodied with a smooth palate. Nice.

Orangeish mahogney color with a small light brown head. Aroma is fairly sweet with lots of fruit notes, mainly cherries and hints of nutmeg. Moderate sweetness initially that leads to an earthy bitterness. Nutmeg, clove and cinnamon are all detected in the finish. Worth a try

Bottle. Deep orange and clear in color with a nice tan head. Aroma is malty and hoppy. Gentle spice with some fruityness. Malty flavor is big but well balanced with spices. Not bad. Decent.

From a bottle: pours a clear copper with reddish tinting ’round the edge. Initially small creamy head. Hint of vanilla in the aroma. Mouthfeel is on the light side with moderate carbonation. Taste is predominately nutty vanilla. Maybe my taste buds are shot because I couldn’t detect much "spice" in this brew. Decenly drinkable..

Golden orange, just like an english ale, but with an off-white, diminishing head. Aromas are orange, nuts, and cider. Smooth and full, quaffable, and tasty, yet substantial with its alcohol, hop, and spice flavors. Not an especially balanced winter warmer. Fresh and intriguing, however.
