Papsoe (9663), Frederiksberg, Denmark Apr 27, 2008 (On tap) Pours a clear, warm amber golden with an off-white head. Rustic aroma of Danish rye and burned caramel. Rather solid body with an impressive malt base rich in Danish rye notes. Dry and hoppy finish. Supposedly this was intended as a malty, English style spring beer. It came out as a Dunkler Bock. But a nice one! 260408

Smoky roasted almonds aroma with malty caramel notes. Dry peppery acidic caramelly taste. Thin-bodied. Sharp mouthfeel, not sure why. Smoky tobaccoish notes and some ash. Soapy. Light infection? It’s ok, but not really very good. Should rerate. (0.3l draft at Lord Nelson, Copenhagen.) Ole_R (1109), Oslo, Norway Apr 30, 2008 Draught @ Lord Nelson, Copenhagen. A thin greyish layer of foam resting on a foggy reddish amber colored body. Low aroma level; a light plymmy fruitiness and some sugary grains to the nose. Taste is sweetish malts, candysugar and notes of dark fruits. Light, soft carbonatied body. Dries up in the end, but does not impress. Ungstrup (10824), Frederiksberg, Denmark Apr 21, 2008 Draft. The flavor is sweet malty strong strong flowery notes of hops, plus a weird spicy note, which includes notes of ginger and elderberries, leading to a dry bitter finish. The body is thin.
