Sep 10, 2009 Cask (South Western Arms, Southampton) - Copper/amber in colour. Fruity and malty aroma with caramel, raisins and spicy malt. Nicely balanced, fruity and malty taste with notes of dried fruit, caramel and tangy hops. Tasty and enjoyable.

Aug 2, 2009 Cask conditioned at The Three Guineas, Reading. Amber coloured with a slight, off-white head. Fruity malt aroma. Flavour was subdued, with a touch of malt and short, bitter finish. Not memorable.

Jul 23, 2009 Cask conditioned at The Kings Head, Alton, Hampshire. Gold amber with white head. Dry malty beer with a fruity background, quite plummy. Quite dry throughout, reasonably drinkable.

May 15, 2009 [Cask at the Hobgoblin, Reading] Dark amber, no head. Silky smooth mouthfeel. Some fruitiness (apple & plum) and some toffee. Finishes with a rather stale bitterness - and given that this was in one of Reading’s premier real ale houses, I’m sure the staleness wasn’t caused by the pub. Not great. c7
