Cloudy golden, small head.Pney floral marzipan aroma. Sweet and fruity, medium-full bodied. Marmelade and pine. Growing late bitterness. Quite interesting. BMan1113VR (2755), Los Angeles (and Dallas), Texas, USA Aug 8, 2009 Bomber for $3.49! Pours with a murky golden body and a just barely off-white head. Aroma is spicy belgian yeast with, banana, vanilla and clove phenols, pear and, very light citrus hops that are very far in the back ground. Tastes like a hopped up hefe to me. Clove, vanilla, banana, spices, and an aftertaste of what seems to be centennial to me, but I could be quite off. Lingering earthy bitterness, but this beer could do with a lot more aroma and flavor hops to downplay the belgian yeast, and probably 40% wheat malt bill. Medium bubbles, dry. Meh, a confused beer that is good if you really dig yeast based clove phenols. nickd717 (1276), Palo Alto, California, USA May 4, 2009 On tap at Boonville Beer Fest. Hazy golden color with a white head. Aroma of sweet malt, Belgian yeast, fruity esters, and some citrusy hops. Flavor is sweet pale malt, light fruits, spices, and a citrusy hop finish. Medium body, medium-high carbonation, and a dry finish. Solid example of a great hybrid style.
