Commercial Description:
Angel City IPA is made with English Pale Malt and is bittered and generously dry-hopped with Golding Hops. This beer is not for the faint of heart, but because it is so well balanced it will be enjoyed by many.

650ml bottle from Bev4less in Santee. Pours a pours a translucent copper-gold color with a big sudsy white head. The lasted a long while and left good lacing. The aroma was moderate in strength with plenty of pepper spice and a bit of sweet biscuit. The flavor was very hops forward (as an IPA should be). Besides biter hops, there is a fair amount of biscuit, sour grapefruit, and white pepper. The mouthfeel is full, malty and smooth. The finish is long with a lingering sour note. Overall: Not my favorite IPA, the sour flavor seemed out of place here. Not recommended.

I ordered this at the Yardhouse the other night and drank it before it really struck me as a great beer. I guess for that reason I’d give it a very drinkable nod, but I would not seek this one out if you want to be impressed. I remember some strong hop presence in both the flavour and nose, but a fairly watery body.

bomber to shaker / had this with a spicy appetizer that consists of fresh baked french bread, creme cheese, and il primo giardiniera... mmm, anyway / this beer really cut the spice, and it was smooth as hell, so i obviously finished it pretty quickly. this beer is most memorable in ts sweetness, which consisted of creamy caramel, and some nuts. there was a bit of pine, and a pinch of citrus, also. a dirty brown color taints this brew... pretty good brew, but not really an IPA.

Bottle, from Hi-Time Cellar. Orange-amber color, aroma is strange and not at all as expected for an IPA. I assume that this bottle has a production problem or infection, way too many off flavors.

Dark golden amber color and a lot of head with a slightly malty aroma. Clean hops flavors dominate finished with a rounded mouth feel. Indeed very well balanced.

very very average beer. it tastes like an ipa would taste if it were made by miller. a little sour and unlike the commercial description just seems out of balance.

22 oz bomber. Pours a cloudy medium copper with a white foamy head. Aroma is malts, nuts, and caramel. The taste follows with mild citrus and pine also. Has a good amount of hop bitterness in the finish. Not too shabby.

On tap pours golden/orange with nice head retention. Light floral hop aroma. Taste is dull with not much hop flavor and no malt backbone. A one of a kind beer to say the least.
