Commercial Description:
Angel City IPA is made with English Pale Malt and is bittered and generously dry-hopped with Golding Hops. This beer is not for the faint of heart, but because it is so well balanced it will be enjoyed by many.

2oz bomber-Aroma of citrus on a light amber body with a head that retains itself pretty well. Taste of citrus with hops on the backend with a grapefruit taste in the middle.

Bottle. Malty, toasty and slightly fruity aroma with noticably aldehydic hop notes (not sure if this is from the hops or something else). Clear golden/amber color with mostly lasting frothy tan head and some lacing. Sweet, toasty, caramelly flavor with some alcohol bite but a tannic/husky astringeny obscures some of the hop flavor and bitterness and detracts from otherwise pleasant flavor components. Very effervescent with a drying mouthfeel and an astringent, bitter finish.

Bottle: Reddish amber, hazy, moderate to large light beige head, frothy, fairly nice lacing.   Immature fruit on the nose.   Slight rubarb in fact.   Where the hell is the hop bitterness?   Odd bitter fruit flavor... no pine, citrus, or floral notes thats usually associated with an IPA.   This isn’t even a Pale Ale.   Ale maybe...   Biting finish, sour fruit in fact.   Not sure if this is spoiled, but based on the other rates I think this is normal for them.   Thats too bad...   Thanks for the new label Jordan!

Pours clear gold witha big white head. Definitely an English-style IPA. Soapy hops, pepper, biscuits, and that distinctive English malts. Taste is sharp and crisp, but somewhat watered-down. Apple tartness, lemons, and the golding hops are prevalent, as is a funky, musty malt flavor. Not really my bag, baby.

22oz bottle acquired in trade with Foolish_Mortal (thanks!). Poured a medium orange color with an averaged sized off white head. Small suspended floaters. Aromas of some fruitiness and citrus. Tastes of citrus, light caramel, and some toasted malts.

From a 22 oz. bottle purchased locally. Aroma is hoppy, a little citrus and pine, some malt. Deep gold color, clear with small off-white head. Flavor is hoppy at first followed by a strong biscuit/toast malt character that dries in the finish. Not too intense in the hop flavor. Clean mouthfeel. Overall, okay. A little boring. I’ve had more assertive Pale Ales than this IPA.

very very average beer. it tastes like an ipa would taste if it were made by miller. a little sour and unlike the commercial description just seems out of balance.

22oz bottle. Very weak IPA. Tastes more like a weak ale. Not impressed at all. Gives Los Angeles a bad name. Would try again if they were handing them out for free or if stuck at a bar where all they had on tap was bud-light.
