Commercial Description:
Rahsaan Roland Kirk 1936-1977 was a blind Jazz musician playing tenor sax, flute and other self-invented instruments simultaneously, interspersed with comic and political rantings. Kirk is probably most famous for his flute solo on the "Austin Powers" themesong.

Pitch black color, small brown ale. Roasted-licorice, bourbon nose. Smooth oily mouthfeel. Lots of whisky, coffee beans, roasted malts. Warming, lots of alcohol. Interesting.

22 ounce bottle purchased at Manor Market in Bishop, CA. Aroma is a bit roasted with some cardboard hints and a light choco sweetness present. A little ethanol present, or perhaps it is some metallic hoppiness? Moderately transparent mahogany color with a ruby twinge present. Medium, fair tan head that leaves good lacing. Not dark enough for my liking. Starts pretty roasted with some harsh, burnt choco flavors in the middle. Warming ethanol later on. Finishes a bit dry. Pretty brash, and rough around the edges.

Bottled at Stockholm Beer Festival. Very dark brown, minimal head. Powerful coffee aroma. Mid-sweet with streamlined malt profile. The alcohol is well hidden, the bitterness steadily ramped up into the resiny coffeeish finish. A competent, notoverly intrusive imperial stout.

Bottled @ 10%. Black on the pour with a small brownish head. Malty aroma with a good deal of chocolate. Some roastiness as well. A little hot. Good roasted malts and coffee bitterness. Hops seem to be present as well. Pretty solid impy. Good buy at 3 bucks a bomber.

Pours dark brown with a nice tan head. Smells of chocolate, earthy, some dry malt. Tastes of spice, roasted malt, some pepper. Dry finish. Decent.
