Commercial Description:
Rahsaan Roland Kirk 1936-1977 was a blind Jazz musician playing tenor sax, flute and other self-invented instruments simultaneously, interspersed with comic and political rantings. Kirk is probably most famous for his flute solo on the "Austin Powers" themesong.

Oh man - a massive 10% beer. Rich in flavor and finish. Strong smoky rich flavor - burnt toast and faint alcohol notes. Coats the inside of your mouth, coffee and chocolate tones. Incredibly chewy and complex. Bravo AC.

22oz bottle from the brewery. Cool bottle and an ok brew. Poured black with a small tan head that left little lacing. Nose of chocolate, toffee and a touch of coffee. Finish was a little boozy.

Bought at alpine village Torrance,Ca. Poured a pitch black with slight tan head. Some coffee, but mostly chocolate, bitter chocolate, alcohol well hidden, easy drinking for the style, abit ho hum, but ok.

Tap Today @ Porter’s Pub @ UCSD. I guess the .2 shouldn’t be added to the tap handle. Purchased for me by a friend as we drank until it started to rain. Pours black with a tan head. Sweet light and malty nose with a slight coffee and chocolate edge. Taste is choclately and bitter with some coffee.

Draft... RBSG ‘08... Pours a dark, burnt orange, but sits pitch black in the glass with a small, wispy, khaki head. Notes of coffee and dark chocolate rule the aroma... also a good bit of soy sauce and acetaldehyde. Full-bodied and oily with restrained carbonation. Deeply roasted, with good bitterness from the alcohol and hops, but overall, the flavor tilts toward the sweet side of balance. Acrid finish.

I had this on tap at Spring Street Smokehouse. It tastes like a thick version of their tasty Dunkel. I would bet the farm it isn’t 10.2%. Didn’t have flavor qualities that come with that abv, and didn’t pack a 10.2% punch.

On tap at Port Brewing in Carlsbad. Dark brown, almost black, with just a small ring of tan head around the edge of the glass. Fairly watery as an imperial stout goes, lack of body and boozy. Chocolate and soft brandy up front. Overall just didn’t seem to come together very well.

From tap at Pizza Port Carlsbad. Pours almost pitch black with a lacing tan head. Aroma is hardroasted malt and coffeeish. Roasted sweet malt flavour. Caramel lingering note to the roasted malt. Goes slight dryer towards the finish with a nice lingering hoppy and caramel mixed flavour.
