The aroma has notes of sweet malt, caramel, soy sauce, coffee, and some alcohol. Aromas of dark chocolate, carmel, vanilla, roasted malt, dark fruit and licorice. Palate was medium bodied and smooth with a dry finish. Flavors of dark chocolate, carmel, roasted malt, licorice, dark fruit, light vanilla and light pepper with a smooth dry lightly warming lingering fruity finish. This beer really opens up as it warms. Aroma is hardroasted malt and coffeeish. Roasted sweet malt flavour. Caramel lingering note to the roasted malt. Pitch black color, small brown ale. Roasted-licorice, bourbon nose. Smooth oily mouthfeel. Lots of whisky, coffee beans, roasted malts. Warming, lots of alcohol. Interesting.
