Taste is a mellow Hefe taste. Its a bit flat but is a good taste and could be a good Hefe if the carbonation was up a bit. riversideAK (2731), Shoreline, Washington, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Mar 20, 2007 A very clovey aroma. Appearance is an opaque golden orange. Clovey esters and small bannana flavor, but for sure it is mostly clove. It tastes pretty similar to a pasteurized Paulaner or Erdinger, but with less bannana and vanilla. It is also extremely carbonated. It is above average. Pailhead (2593), Allen Park, Michigan, USA
| 2.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 2/5 | 3/10 | 2/5 | 8/20 | Aug 22, 2006 Bottle: Courtesy of Styles. Lots of banana with moderate clove and a touch of yeast. Pours a slightly hazy yellow with a minimal white head that fades to nothing quickly. Flavor has lots of lemon and minimal banana. Light clove in the finish. Thin and fizzy mouthfeel. I like Hefes, but this is quite the letdown. Headbanger (1588), Aurora, Illinois, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jul 5, 2006 22oz bottle- Aroma of wheat and lemon on a cloudy orange body with no head. Tastes like a mellow flat hefe probably because the carbonation is so low. Has great potential. BückDich (4848), McCall, Idaho, USA
| 2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 2/5 | 4/10 | 1/5 | 7/20 | May 24, 2006 Bottle: Pours a muddy brown/orange color with no head. The nose is tart and sour with some rotten fruit/banana and various malty smells. The flavor is also very tart and sour, nearly a lambic. If I think of it another way, it’s not nearly as nasty, but it says right on the bottle "German Hefeweizen". Sorry, no dice for me. ElBorracho (472), Chicago, Illinois, USA

| 1.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 2/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 7/20 | May 16, 2006 Bottle problems perhaps, or maybe just old, but hefeweizen should not taste sour. It looks like a flat pear nectar. This also had a tart lemony note ...but really just awful. 5000 (2409), Hardened Liver, Washington, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 2/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | May 10, 2006 Updated: May 11, 2006Bottle: Dirty yellow, very thick and cloudy, moderate spritzy off-white head, settles quickly, no lacing. Pale wheat nose, seems sour, very little clover or banana... if any. Seems to be more of an American Hefe than a German one, by far. Tiz also an odd meat like aroma. Reminds me a bit of a rare steak. Sour start, touch of appleskin, not seeing any banana or clove at all. Remains with a wheaty mouthfeel, slight American Wheat aspects, but its almost as much of a pale Gueuze as it is a Hefe. As a German Hefe I feel its pretty far off base, but as a dull wheaty Gueuze its not bad. Thanks Jordan!
