I love the unfiltered bread doughy nose and taste. Decent hop finish, a top notch ’Weizen’ in my book. bsierra (213), Vista, California, USA

The banana and clove is very much there in the aroma. As others have said, the head disappears fairly quickly. Nice wheat flavor, with a bit of a spicy kick. Overall, I felt it was a top notch hefe. Medium sized white foamy head. Aroma is bready, yeasty, with a distinct spicy banana and clove finish. A medium bodied German Hefeweizen. Malts are fruity, sweet, bready, with a distinct banana and clove. Touch of spicy hops. Smooth taste. Nice bright carbonation. Mouthfeel is fluffy. Finish is clean and dry. Aftertaste is slightly bitter. TheBeerLover (1019), DC Metro Area, USA

Pours to a hazy, deep golden color, with a thick, tall, white head, and a vibrant carbonation. The nose on this beer is inviting, with light aromas of clove, estery fruit and banana. The palate is firm, with good, tart wheat malt flavors, paired with some estery fruity flavor of pear, and some banana flavor. This beer finishes with more good tart wheat malt up front, then ends with some clove spicy flavors that linger. I would have enjoyed a touch more yeasty, estery aromas and flavors, but really enjoyed this one. A good domestic example of hefeweizen. A nice summer refresher, and a good beer to match with weisswurst, or any other German fare. can8ianben (911), Pasadena, California, USA

Its my only complaint for this hefe with massive banana and clove flavors. Lovely yeasty spiciness and the classic cloudy yellow color with a thick white head. bhensonb (4374), Woodland, California, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Feb 23, 2008 Bomber at wine frig temperature. Aromas of wheat, clove and banana. Hazy orange gold color and a white head that flattened rapidly. Medium body with mild, creamy carbonation. Flavors of banana, wheat and clove. Enough spice to tingle. It is one of the better, closer to the style, hefes that I can recall. The finish has all the flavors plus a touch of orange/lemon citrus. I’d suggest this not be served overly cold.
