On draught, cask conditioned, at the brewery/brewpub in Hayward, Wisconsin. This bourbon barrel-aged Belgian ale pours a hazy burnt amber brew with a creamy off-white head that dissipates to a creamy thin film and off-white head with good lacing. Aroma of sweet caramel malt, candi sugar, bourbon/coconut and a touch of banana esters. Taste is medium bodied, very little carbonation with flavors of light banana esters, yeast, caramel malt, and a definite bourbon presence. Finish is thick with texture with sweet light banana, candi sugar and bourbon aftertaste. It has a strange flavor mix that is not as pleasant as the bourbonized scotch ale version but still drinkable.
