| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jun 3, 2008 [Growler, thanks Skyview] Pours deep red with a good beige head. Aroma has a lot of musty maltiness with only a bit of nuttiness in there. The same is present in the taste with a little more of the nut and a good deal of toastiness also. Medium-thin mouthfeel and quite smooth. Long finish. I’m not a fan of the musty character here, but it was ok overall. JohnnyOS (646), Golden, Wisconsin, USA

| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | May 29, 2008 Growler thanks to Skyview. Brown/reddish color with a medium head. Nice chalky aroma with hazelnuts. The chalky taste and mouthfeel persists. Nuttiness faded into a somewhat charred malt. Skyview (4090), Papoose Jct., Minnesota, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | May 4, 2008 After many years of drinking nut brown ales, this is the first nut red ale I’ve encountered. Pours a clear reddish amber brew with a thin and fast dissipated off-white head that leaves behind a thin film top and a good retaining off-white ring with spotty lacing. Aroma is almost absent when first served until I allowed this beer to warm up. The aroma has some light caramel malt, a touch of hazelnuts, and some pear character. Taste is light bodied, very light multi-grain amber malts, with no bitterness in the aftertaste whatsoever. A good example of a lighter summer craft beer.
