msante79 (268), Illinois, USA Sep 11, 2008 12oz bottle. pours browish copper with thin white head. Aroma is floral hops, caramel and touch of citrus. Flavor hops, pine, lemon and caramel malts. Body is a little thin but makes for a good session beer. A nice surprise for the singles rack. phishpond417 (1456), Green Bay, Wisconsin, USA Jun 15, 2008 Sampled on draught: Poured a clear, bright copper colour with a small white head. Aroma is floral accented, fresh cut lemon and caramel. Taste is of firm hop flavors, grapefruit and grass. incutrav (521), Woodbury, Minnesota, USA Dec 26, 2007 Orangish color. Lots of piney hops in the nose. Great hop flavor and bite that lingers on the tongune. Even with all the hops, there is enough malt there to balance it out. Not quite as good as Muskie Capitals APA, but still very good. Hayward brewpubs know how to make an awesome pale ale! The_Enemy (383), Chicago, USA Oct 27, 2007 On tap Pours a lovely hazy amber-orange with white poofy head. Minimal lacing on the inside of the glass. Aroma is a bit muted but shows lots of orange and lemon with some pine and sweet malt. Citrus dominates the flavor as well with noticeable hop bitterness and sugary malt. I often complain of American pales being imbalanced with too much hop bitterness; if anything, this is out of balance with too much citrus. Still, it’s decently hoppy, sugary-sweet and a decent overall beer. Finishes with a thick if slightly flat palate. sneagrams3 (1447), St. Louis, Missouri, USA Oct 23, 2007 Tasted 10/10/07. 12oz bottle. Filtered with a ruby amber hue. Clinging off-white head. Wow! Huge hoppy nose! Notes of pepper and citrus. Lemons and cake bread. Wonderful complex nose. Medium bodied and delicious. Sweet crisp malts. So smoothly rounded with the bright fresh hop character. Cola fruitiness and citrus hops. Tasty. Good belnd but hop dominant. Slightly bitter. Touch grapefruit. Mildly syrupy. Slightly dulled malts. But a great hop profile!
