What did AB hope to accomplish with this? They want us to be made comforted by the fact that they got their top 10 brewmasters to work on this? Like they're some kind of Brewing Justice League? Or maybe like, the Manhattan Project of beers? No, they failed. Comes in a green bottle, because green means "imported". I think I’d rather go grab a real beer than this... corn drink. jamrun (137), Sioux Falls, South Dakota, USA

| 2.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 8/20 | Oct 3, 2004 Detergent aroma (distinctive of many AB brews) that getsmore caustic as the drink goes on. (Thanks to my sister for the astute labelling.) That said, the taste is not watery. "Smooth" -- ahem, let me reference another phrase, as the rating literary hardnuts are getting after me -- "flings past my tounge and throat with ridiculous ease based upon my expectation of AB beer". Better? Nice flavor, but not as creative as you’d hope. Reminds me a lot of Tsingtao beer... maybe they just let the Chinese brewer dominate the conversations between AB brewmasters. Scary when you see that in an economic metaphor... lowered expectations for beer.. mass production.... foreign domination. Okay, so its a loose metaphor. I like the challenge behind this beer, but it doesn’t live up to the challenge. (Calls itself a "Continental Pilsner") Having AB call a summit of "brewmasters" is like having Mr. Bush call a summit on how to humanely orchestrate the world. I had look many years since to find it and had little sucess.
When Anheuse World Select came out I thought, "Wow, this is the taste I remember with my old college friends."
Regarles the taste id great and has a fuller taste than most "preimum" american beers.
I could never drink Heineken, it tastes to watery to me. To me, World Select is also my personal select. ghawener (964), San Salvador, El Salvador

I would expect a lot more from 10 top brewmasters from around the globe. Very pretentious, quite disappointing. bruno1378 (121), Epping, New Hampshire, USA

Tastes like Bud with a few extra hops. It’s amazing that it took experts from so many countries to kiss butt and say "Bud with extra hops would be world-class."
Sad.
