As I sip it, I recall a taste... yep, this beer has the same taste a fifty-fifty mix of Heinekin and Bud does. There’s very little body and a lot of blandness to this brew, folks... I don’t think I’ll be purchasing it again. JPDIPSO (4932), Wauwatosa, Wisconsin, USA
| 2.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 2/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 9/20 | Mar 2, 2004 Rather lifeless looking light golden liquid with a tall wispy off white head that fades to a small layer of big bubbles. Small amount of lace. Sweet euro malt nose, after initial volatile hops are driven off. Yes, sweet, sharp and crisp. Lacks depth and character. No soul to speak of. A brew to compete with the other green bottled imports. Sorry, but we already have this type of brew available, not extraordinary, just ordinary. Gromit (462), Port Orchard, Washington, USA
| 1.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 2/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 8/20 | Feb 29, 2004 10 Master Brewers? Why didn't they just find one who knew wtf they were doing instead? Admittedly this is the best AB product I've had (save maybe Red Dog, but even that's close), but I'd just as soon have just about any other European Pilsner than this.
Pours a piss-yellow with some head that quickly goes away leaving no lacing. Smells skunked. Tastes like sweet corn. Mouthfeel is thicker than other ABs. Overall this is better than other ABs, but not much, and certainly not worth the price. Andrew196 (1091), Katy, Texas, USA
| 1.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 1/10 | 2/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 6/20 | Feb 29, 2004 Yup, Chad hit it on the nose. The aroma was downright offensive. But like most of the green bottle lagers, the taste is much better than the aroma. Fizzy yellow, blah blah, sweet corn, blah blah....not much else to say, just very typical. | 1.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 1/10 | 2/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 3/20 | Feb 29, 2004 Bottle. I poured a sample for myself, one for Andrew196, and the rest went straight down the drain. Wow, so this is the combined efforts of ten brewmasters? They sure like skunk and green bottles. The grainy flavor is slightly more appealing than the fart aroma, but that doesn't say much. Silphium (2144), Haslett, Michigan, USA
| 1.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 2/5 | 3/10 | 2/5 | 9/20 | Feb 28, 2004 I have to admit, the bottle this beer comes in is pretty classy, although very "corporate." However, the beer inside is deceptively average. Hops are present and create a slightly earthy bitterness, especially in the aftertaste. Malt is light and slightly sweet. Tastes like a weak pilsener and is definitely not worth $7.99/6. PorterPounder (3148), Tallahassee, Florida, USA
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Feb 27, 2004 Decent looking, dark golden pour, good bubble action. Quickly dissipating white head. Initially has a skunky aroma, buts it mellows out to a wort-like esence - reminds me of some sub premium German pils. Tart, slighty spicy flavor with some Saaz hoppiness. Not unenjoyable - not a bad effort by AB - but it took 10 brewers to figure this one out? preproman (1), USA does not count | 1.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 2/10 | 3/5 | 2/10 | 2/5 | 2/20 | Feb 27, 2004 decent color, faint hop nose.a little thin on malt and ibu's not a bad lawnmower beer.Bought a whole case, unopened,so it wasn't light struck.I say there on to something with this beer, but dont stop here.give us something a little better next year.
