omhper (10438), Stockholm, Sweden Feb 27, 2006 Updated: Apr 20, 2006Bottled. Clear deep golden, small head. Buttery aroma. Sweet with rounded mouthfeel. The very low hop rate put all the focus on the malt. The malt profile doesn’t stick out, but caramel and butter is there, and it offers a laid back but solid back bone. A well made beer that doesn’t stick out. SilkTork (3865), Rochester, Kent, England Oct 9, 2005 June, 2005.Bottle @ Catford Beer Fest. Lots of fruit. Quite sweet. Fruit salad. Lychee and passion fruit. Fizzy and tasty. Ungstrup (11075), Frederiksberg, Denmark Jun 26, 2005 A light brown beer with a huge head. The aroma is sweet with notes of yeast and coriander, while the flavor is sweet and dominated by coriander, and with a dry spicy end. duff (5404), Sydney, Australia, Surrey, England Jun 14, 2005 Bottle. Quite fruity and sweet, with some melon, pawpaw and orange. Sounds interesting, but its not really, just a pretty solid beer, nothing special. Sweet, smooth mouthfeel. chris_o (4405), London, Greater London, England Jun 9, 2005 I’ve generally enjoyed beers from this producer and this one was no exception. However, to get style-picky, I wouldn’t say this is a particularly typical biere de garde. The aroma is bursting with fruit, with the emphasis on fruit salad and melon. There’s an understated yeastiness that hovers between the musty and the sharp and a distinct cider-like vibe on the palate. However, the fruit ends up just a touch too sweet and soft. A bit more acidity or bitterness would have provided better balance. Bottled at Catford Beer Festival, 2005.
