Cask@The Baker’s Arms, Broad Campden (Cotswolds). Bronze beer with a strong white head. The aroma is lightly roasted and toffee, and the flavour is hopped, bitter and mildy toffee. Overall a reasonable beer.

Cask conditioned - handpump - Coach And Horses - Wellingborough. A copper coloured beer which, in spite of its move to Leeds still has some sulphuric Burton notes to it. Fairly thin in body but some nice hops come through in the taste. Some bitterness. Old fashioned and approachable.

Kenilworth. Anaemic dribble of mealy biscuit, caramel, diluted raisiny fruit. But drinkable.

Cask (handpump) @ The Royal Oak, CV8, Kenilworth. Clear medium orange color with a small creamy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, caramel, toffee, butter. Flavor is moderate sweet with a average duration. Mild and easy to drink. Body is light to medium, texture is creamy, carbonation is flat.

April, 2004: Huntsman & Horn, Near Herne Bay, Kent. Copper orange coloured hoppy bitter with a pleasant sweetness under the earthy bite. An old school bitter, well made. Orange marmalade aroma. [2.9]

Keg. Filtered and pasteurised. 3.7%
Dec, 2004:Von Alten, Chatham Soft nitro. Dried apple flavour soon followed by cardboard staleness. Leaves a stale bitter taste. The first gulp is acceptable - then the badness settles in and this becomes very nasty indeed. [1.8]

Cask at the Red Lion, Shirley. I really enjoyed this one. Tight, creamy head, which remained about half an inch thick throughout. Light golden colour, with a fairly thin mouthfeel. Nicely bitter, balanced with a citrus freshness. Refreshing, crispy, full. I'd say spritzy. Nice.

Cask Conditioned at The Plough, Bicester. Amber bitter, a beer from my youth and now it has been reduced to this tasteless, watery rubbish. Originally brewed in Birmingham its now an unloved recipe in a faceless macro brewery.

Very standard bitter with that weird combination of wateriness and very unquenching fruity thickness. Not a lot to get excited about, apart from the uncanny taste of condoms (or what I imagine they taste like...).
