Commercial Description:
The romantic term "barley wine" is used for the beers with an alcoholic content similar to the one of the wine. Of color bronze, the Antares Barley Wine is a hard licorosa beer and maltose, with an intense frutado accent, that remembers white grapes to us, originating of leavenings.

YUM! Thanks Kenny! Golden orange color, small white head. Instant nose of cardboard, corn and fuel scented malts, highly boozy and hot, with a starchy potato, wet paper and toasted corn and grain smell, and honestly it tastes no different - boozy, chewy corn, toast, fuel, etc. Thanks for sharing!

Courtesy of kmweaver. Clear light amber wit a small white head. The nose is sweet and boozy with cotton candy, honey and golden raisins. The flavor is sweet with golden raisins, caramel, cotton candy and herbs. Full body is chewy and sticky with moderate carbonation. Finish is thin and hot.

750mL bottle, courtesy of jjpm74. Thanks, John! Pours a clear, bright honey-orange color; white head with solid fine-bubbled lacing. Boozy, basic alcohol and cereal and corn in the aroma; blah and warming. Medium-to-full mouthfeel: toasty grains, astringent booziness and sugar; very one-dimensional and corny and sugary; quite disappointing for the promise of a full-bodied barleywine. Medium, corny finish: basic cereal and sugar and astringent husks.

Poured a clear copper color with an off-white head. Fusel alcohol dominates the aroma but some sweet malt is present. The flavor was sweet malt and pepper alcohol. Bitter finish. Pretty thin for a barleywine.

Bottle @ Coles Barleywine tasting Buffalo NY. From Michael Jackson Beer Club. Light red with slight golden hue. Sweet honey aroma. herbal honey caramel flavor. Light hop bitterness & sweetness. Not really barleywinish to me. Easy drinking despite high ABV hides it very well

Bottle @ Cole’s Barleywine Fest. Amber, thinnish white head. Nose is caramel, honey, alcohol, pine hops. Flavor is honey, alcohol, wierd plasticy bitterness, odd astringency, somewhat tannic.

Courtesy SoLan. Slightly cloudy light amber color with a thin even layer of white head. Sweet grainy aroma. No deeper malt scents. Kind of a flat taste - buttery sweetness, no real malt richness, almost tastes dirty. Cardboardy aroma after a while.
