The aroma is a bit spicy and mixes with the additional notes of apricot and mildly musty sweet malts. The taste begins with slick sweet malts and sweet apricots. It then gets a bit more fruity with apricot skin and apple skin tartness mixing with plenty of malty and fruity sweetness. The hops seem to show up with some late addition to the boil spice hop flavor and a dash of earthiness. Frovigalning (472), , Sweden

Feels like a thirst quencher even though its 10%. However it doesnt really feel like a barley wine, tastes more like a mead. yngwie (5079), Kristiansand, Norway
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Nov 22, 2009 Bottle, 75cl, as Simpatico. A clear, golden beer under a small off-white head. Malty, bready nose with a roasted hint. Fruity hops and citrus-peel and alcohol as well. Malty and bready flavor too, with resiny hops and sweetness. Full-bodied and warming. Lasting bitter finish with sweetness. The alcohol is too evident in this one and it somehow feels a bit one-tracked, still it’s a good example. 090822 TampaBrew (900), Tampa, Florida, USA

Flavor is fruity, come citrus and floral hops going on, some spicy yeasty flavors. Not bad. Probably the best barley wine in Argentina :) thomat (666), Göteborg, Sweden

| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Dec 6, 2007 Thanks Brent for sharing! Starts bready with a tobacco hoppiness. Some citrus fruit and dusty yeastiness. My companions are proclaiming citric hops and urine! I almost get that, but not quite exactly that. Its a weird and unusual aroma for sure. Light copper color. Big caramel flavors, with some unusual floral notes and a background of grapefruit hops. I’ve never had anything like this and I can’t even say if I liked it or not! ekstedt (2456), Göteborg, Sweden

Fruity and nutty with some herbal hops. Medium bodied and smooth. Nicely balanced. Perhaps not the most complex BW out there, but strangely underrated.
