Sampled from bottle at SMOF. Vintage 07. Dark brown colour, low off-white head. Chocolatey nose, smooth cocoa. Nice aged feel, but not much of madeira or berries. Hm, a little madeira after all. Really malty beer, but lacking in darker malt characteristics. The chocolate tone is light and soft, rounded. Low bitterness. Really lingering flavour. Not very reminiscent of an Imperial Stout, at least not US-style.

It poured a dark brown liquid with a small light brown foam. Sour smell of chocolate and something burned. Smooth mouthfeel, but watery. Alcoholic finish. The taste didnt match the smell.

Bottled. A dark brown beer with a huge brown head. The aroma is sweet with notes of butter as well as lighter notes of roasted malt. The flavor is sweet malty with notes of roasted malt as well as lighter notes of butter and alcohol, leading to a dry finish.

Poured dark brown with a smallish, off-white head. Yeasty aroma with all kinds of flavours, coffee, fig, chocolate... Good balnce, well made beer, the best I’ve had in Latin America.

Bottle [12oz] shared with HogTownHarry & garthicus -- c/o HogTownHarry. Pours a deep, deep ruby with an average size diminishing tan head. Aroma of roasted malt, alcohol, light green hops, some brown sugar and maybe some chocolate. Slightly watery flavour of roasted malt, alcohol, dark chocolate and a light bitter finish. Average bodied. A pretty good Stout.

Bottle (12oz). Shared with blankboy and garthicus via trade mgermani. Cloudy deep ruby with a small off-white head. Smells sweet and a bit burnt, not all that impy-like, but sweet, treacly and fairly appealing. Taste is more stout-like, decent alcohol, quite roasty with coffee and dark chocolate bitterness, some dry herbal character, but a bit buttery. Light body, slick, slightly boozy, it has a decent malty herbal linger to it. Odd, but not bad.
