Feb 7, 2008 (Bottle, Monk’s Café, Stockholm, 6 Feb 2008) Almost black colour with ruby hints, frothy brown head. Roasted, malty nose with notes of chocolate and coffee. Roasted, malty taste with chocolate, cocoa, tobacco and a dry finish with hints of cocoa bitterness. Medium body, dry. Good balance. Nice and tasty, but could use slightly more edge.

Deep dark brown not black ... pleasent gentle coffee nose som woody and tobaco notes ... mmmm not the intesnce imp stout taste i expected... lots of caramel quite sweet ... good deep fruityness with some green raisins ... little hop character fights its way through on linger...

Jan 14, 2008 Deep dark mahogany, clear, minimal brown head. Nice aroma of cigar-box and leather. Silky palate with stewed figs, raisins, cherry pipe-tobacco, and a nice leathery dryness in the finish. I agree with some other raters that this may not be full-bodied or roasted quite enough to fit into the imperial stout category, but as a porter it is exceptional. I enjoyed this tremendously.

Jan 3, 2008 Bottle @ Chris_o. Pours a black/reddish color with a small tan head. Roasted malty coffee aroma with some buttery hints. Sweet malty coffee and chocolate flavor. Roasted malty chocolate finish.

Dec 29, 2007 Bottled at Monks Café, Stockholm. Dark brown colour with a creamy beige foam. Coffee, pine-needles, biscuits, cocoa, nuts and raisin in the aroma. Full-bodied with notes of dark, chocolate, nuts, mild anise, nuts and resin. Long bitter finish of dark chocolate, nuts and anise. Nicely done.

Nov 13, 2007 A Mes rate: 50cl bottle at the Magic_dave6 shindig at Chris O’s.
Almost translucent dark red, not at all like an impy stout. Sweet fruit, malt and butter in the aroma. Slight coffee flavour, very sweet and milky. A long way off tru to style and not very impressive.
