Deep dark mahogany, clear, minimal brown head. Nice aroma of cigar-box and leather. Silky palate with stewed figs, raisins, cherry pipe-tobacco, and a nice leathery dryness in the finish. I agree with some other raters that this may not be full-bodied or roasted quite enough to fit into the imperial stout category, but as a porter it is exceptional. I enjoyed this tremendously.

courtesy of Per Forsgren, 8.5% - clear dark ruby-brown colour with almost no foam left; slightly roasted, aroma of cola, prune and caramel; good malt body and a solid carbonation, sweet and fairly bitter; long roasted chocolatey finish with more prunes and cola - solid and very malty

Sampled from bottle at SMOF. Vintage 07. Dark brown colour, low off-white head. Chocolatey nose, smooth cocoa. Nice aged feel, but not much of madeira or berries. Hm, a little madeira after all. Really malty beer, but lacking in darker malt characteristics. The chocolate tone is light and soft, rounded. Low bitterness. Really lingering flavour. Not very reminiscent of an Imperial Stout, at least not US-style.

Bottle. Dark brown with ruby tinges and a creamy eggshell head. The aroma has caramel, toast, near-burnt malts, and some sweet chocolate. Flavour is sweet raisin, chocolate, but not really up to the strength/fullness of an IS. The alcohol is very well masked and all you really get is a bit of warmth.
