Commercial Description:
Josh's translation of the Spanish description: At first glance of it’s brilliant amber colour, you’ll see a lager beer in the Pilsner style. But this Kölsch is radically different. It is a smooth ale, but well-hopped. It has a lot of body and enjoys a fruity flavour, displaying the purity of its components. It is freshly aromatic, with a dry finish, a product of the hops. The alcohol content is 5% abv This style is well-suited to accompany cheese, and freshly picked produce.

Pours a hazy yellow color with a medium white head that lingers for a couple of minutes. Aroma is buttery with hints of herbs, grass and some milk. Isn’t a Kölsch supposed to be fruity? There are only faint hints of fruits. Sweet, slightly fruity flavor but again there are buttery notes with minimal bitterness. Hops are very lightly used. Body is light, like a Premium Lager. Texture is watery. The finish is short and metallic with a weak aftertaste. My first Kölsch and I’m not impressed. I’m looking forward to taste some true german example.

Hazy to cloudy light yellow body. Small white rocky head. Feeble aroma, mostly sweet with hints of toasted grains, sugar cane, and something that reseambles sweat. The flavor is consequently very light, sweet with a smooth bitternes at the end. Watery texture, light body and softly carbonated. I’d say, in general, that the whole beer if weak.

Hazy blonde with a thin white head. Light lemony aroma, with tart lactic acid notes. In mouth, a lambic like confection, not bad, but this isnt a lager or a kolsch!!!Medium bodied. On tap at Patio Cervecero, BAires, 5$AR.

From a 330 ml brown bottle. A dense gold in color with low head and medium body. Initial slightly sweet pale malt flavor yields to an odd fruity (peach) character. Minimal hops presence, with low carbonation. Might of had an off fermentation. Score of 2.2 Re-rated in August 2009 - Brown bottle at Breoghan Brew Bar in B.A. Pours a dense pale straw color with a fleeting head. Well-carbonated, slightly spicey character, slight citrusy notes. Early hop character and tanginess. Light-bodied. Nice Kolsch.

From Tap Yellow hazy appareance. Light brew, very fruity, not bitter at all. I suppose it tastes like kolsch is supposed to. An overall fine brew, very quaffable, lives up to the standards of Antares brewery, although not my favourite in their line up.

Imbibed in December 2002. Definitely not a Kolsch. Slightly malty aroma with hints of honey. Clear yellowish amber with a thin white head. Light malty flavor with a taste of honey. No hop bitterness. Lightly carbonated.
