Commercial Description:
Josh's translation of the Spanish description: At first glance of it’s brilliant amber colour, you’ll see a lager beer in the Pilsner style. But this Kölsch is radically different. It is a smooth ale, but well-hopped. It has a lot of body and enjoys a fruity flavour, displaying the purity of its components. It is freshly aromatic, with a dry finish, a product of the hops. The alcohol content is 5% abv This style is well-suited to accompany cheese, and freshly picked produce.

Bottled. Hazy golden, small head. Grassy, fruity nose. Medium sweet with clean flavour profile and crisp mouthfeel. Reasonably hoppy with a citric touch and some toffee. Susprisingly tasty!

Bottle, Brewery Creek
Mardel/Santa Clara del Mar, along with El Bolson/Bariloche and Baires were Argentina’s pioneering microbrew regions. The three would be akin to SF, Seattle and PDX in the US. Antares was one of the bigger pioneering breweries from that era. That we can now get this in Vancouver brings a tear to my eye, as it is a watershed moment both in both the Vancouver and Argentinian scenes. May Fukito be able to buy a Black Toque in the near future...

Hazy straw colour. Large bubbles - looks rustic and kolsch is the opposite of that. Aroma is toasty, salty with a mushroom/tofu note. Quite toasty pale malt with earth and pear skin notes alongside black pepper and mushroomy notes. Watery finish.

660ml bottle-pours a thin white film that reduces to a ring of bubbles for a head and hazy yellow color. Aroma is light grain, secondary citrus. Taste is light grain-some sweet/caramel/crystal malt (the malt from the CA brewery), secondary grassy/citrus hops. Mild carbonation.

Hazy blonde with a thin white head. Light lemony aroma, with tart lactic acid notes. In mouth, a lambic like confection, not bad, but this isnt a lager or a kolsch!!!Medium bodied. On tap at Patio Cervecero, BAires, 5$AR.

Grainy and toasty with plenty of sweetness and a lot of corn in the nose. Hazy yellow-tan coloured body is topped by a fizzy white head that recedes rapidly to a thin partial cover. Corn and toasted malts and a very dusty character with moderate bitterness at the finish. Medium-light body is somewhat watery in texture with short-lived and somewhat low carbonation. Stem glass. Cellar temperature. Bottle (Brewery Creek, Jul-07).

A bottle courtesy of Poperinge and his mysterious sources! Hazy pale gold. Very thin head. Sweet aroma with a hint of lemon. Relatively flat in the mouth. Lightly sweet. Thick body. Salty finish.
