Commercial Description:
Josh's translation of the Spanish description: A classic English style. Antares Porter promotes digestion, in an abundant sea of foam, with notes of toasted malt and chocolately finish. In antiquity, doctors prescribed this beer, enriched with an egg yolk, for nursing mothers. Nowadays, many remember it for that reason, but prefer to enjoy the virtues of a malty palate accented with hops. With 5.5%abv, this beer is excellent with smoked meats and seafood.

Bottled. Deep coppery amber colour with mediumsized beige head. Aroma is toffee, coffee, caramel and roasted malts. Flavour is caramel, and roasted malts. Quite watery palate.

Bottled, courtesy of omhper. Pours out in a clear dark reddish brown appearance with a low tan-coloured head. Plenty of roasted malts in the aroma with touches of crackers, coffee beans, nuts and cocoa. Weaker flavour of cocoa, nuts and bland coffee. medium-bodied. Cocoa powder and nuts in the aftertaste that could linger a bit longer. Nice aroma but the flavour doesn’t lives up to it.

(Bottle, Monk’s Café, Stockholm, 8 Feb 2008) Almost black colour with ruby notes, frothy pale brown head. Roasted, malty nose with chocolate and liquorice. Roasted, malty taste with notes of chocolate, liquorice and a fairly dry finish with notes of coffee. Light to medium body, fairly dry, with smooth, creamy mouthfeel. More and more taste as it warms up. A well made porter.

Bottle courtesy of mgermani: Poured a deep black color porter with a small dirty brown foamy head with average retention and no lacing. Aroma of roasted malt with some bitterness and light notes of black chocolate with some coffee. Taste is a mix between some light bitter notes from roasted malt with some notes of black chocolate and coffee. Body is a bit thin for the style with some average carbonation.

Bottle (660 ml) in Buenos Aires. Dark brown color with a light brown head. A strong chocolate, biscuit malty aroma. Really nice and robust flavor with a lingering finish. I really enjoyed this one.

Bottle. Pours dark brown with a thin tan head. Smells smoky with lots of dark malt texture and some fruity elements. Tastes of pepper, some coffee, hints of roastiness and an underlying bitterness. Mouthfeel is on the thin side. Finish yields a weird aftertaste that can best be described as chewable aspirin. Not a fan of this one.

Draught at the brewerys pub in Buenos Aires, dakish brown with a foamy tan head. A burnt toffee malt roma. Very chocolately in flavour and a light mouthfeel with a short finish. Tasty, but lacking in something.
