Opaque darkest brown/black body is topped by a decent tan-cream coloured, fine bubbled head that lasts nicely. Plenty of chocolate flavour up front is undercut nicely by a subtle but building dark malt bitterness that lingers on into the aftertaste. Medium body with creamy texture and moderate carbonation. Tulip glass. Cellar temperature. Bottle (BB 04/08, Brewery Creek, Jul-07). I’m glad I resampled this one. Original rating replaced. Original Rating (4-1-4-2-7=1.8) Huge buttery diacetyl overwhelms the aroma though some caramel, chocolate and roast can be discerned. Clear brown body topped by a low tan head that recedes instantly to the slightest ring. Butter, cardboard, chocolate and roasty flavours don’t blend well. Mild bitterness cuts off the aftertaste. Medium body with slick texture and somewhat syrupy due to fairly low carbonation. Bottle sampled at the post-Mondial tasting 2006. faroeviking (6126), BjórtjóðveldiðBjórheimBjórsins, Faroe Islands

Excellent light brown head which is mostly lasting. Bitter-light flavour to start with, nice creamy lively roasted chocolate malt and then a good long finish with chocolate and that warm feeling from the alc. (hadn’t eaten before I tasted it). presario (3009), Calgary, Alberta, Canada

Thin but lasting skiff of foam. Seems to be a consistent house character to the Antares beers. More prune than chocolate in the flavour. Some smoke in the taste and a smokey burn in the finish. matt92 (3), fdgf, Delaware, Colombia does not count | 1.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 2/5 | 1/10 | 1/5 | 7/20 | Aug 22, 2006 is not a good beer ...argentina have not good beers......

Light, fairly clear brown with a bit of head that dies quickly....this a porter?.....nose is lots of diacetyl though as it warms a more caramel-toffee character begins to be felt above the butteryness....body is faintly roasty but mostly sweet, light, and dull...sugary, watery and with very little character. Too bad, I’m still waiting for that great S American beer... Lubiere (4552), Ottawa, Ontario, Canada
