Commercial Description:
Josh's translation of the Spanish description: Ale (top-fermentation) has many followers at the Brewpub Antares, in Mar del Plata. A flashy ruby colour, fruity taste and malt accent are typical of beers in this style. And this is as well – because in Scotland – the place where Scotch Ale was born – the climate is good for barley, but not so friendly for hops. Antares Scotch is a beer with a full body. The alcohol level of 6%abv is virtually unnoticeable. It is recommended that Scotch ales should be served at 10C. This is ideal for drinking alone, or with beef, pork or pizza.

Bottled, Thanks Tiago! Nice dark amber color that star with a nice clear beige head and gone fast. Aroma is sweet with strong notes of caramel, toasted Malt. Flavor some light toffee, toasted malt and hop, mouthfeel is quite bitter with some sweetness in there. Good beer.

Brown bottle in B.A. Pours a dense dark amber with a slight head. Malty aroma, medium body, full mouthfeel, slightly sweet malty flavor turns dry. Dry clean finish. Not bad.

[1719-20080917] 660mL bottle. Sweet maple scotch malt aroma and mild leaf notes. Slightly hazy, brown amber body with a quick bubbly white foam. Slightly bourbon-esque wood malt flavour with sweet maple leaves. Medium body. Average.

Coloração âmbar, espuma bege que se dissipou rapidamente e totalmente. Presença marcante de malte, além de madeira, lúpulo e fermento. Médio amargor. Conjunto equilibrado. Boa cerveja.

Bottle shared with jerc, mabel, blankboy & HogTownHarry - courtesy of HogTownHarry. Orange-amber colour with a wispy head. Aroma is sweet and lightly toasted, with a bit of caramel. Medium bodied. Flavour is OK, some light toffee and toasted malt. Nothing bad, quite drinkable, just pretty light for the style.

(Bottle 33 cl) Clear amber golden with a dense, off-white head leaving laces. Sweetish caramel in the nose. Surprisingly light-bodied with a little burned caramel and a whiff of cardboard. No bitterness. Rather poor. 200908

Bottle (660ml) shared with HogTownHarry, GregClow, jerc & mabel -- courtesy of HogTownHarry. Pours a slightly hazy orange-copper with a small diminishing off-white head. Aroma of lightly toasted caramel, a hint of smoke and some grain. Sweet flavour of toffee, lightly burnt caramel malt and some earthy notes. Light to average bodied. Too thin for the style. Not bad, better then I expected.
