JB175 (1366), Holland, Pennsylvania, USA Sep 30, 2008 Nice looking golden/amber honey coloring with some nice legs on the snifter. Rich honey aroma dominated by wildflower and mesquite with some nice floral notes. Flavor has a rich wildflower honey bite with some dark fruit and heavy sugar. Thick feel that is quite tasty. Comes in just shy of thier poltorak. sayravai (3186), Helsinki, Finland Sep 5, 2008 (Bottled) Clear amber with no head. Sweetish aroma of malt and dried fruit. Very, very sweet, dessert-wineous flavor of sugar, burned sugar, syrup, dark fruit, honey. No signs of alcohol beneath the sugar. Quite full-bodied, thick and sticky palate with no carbonation. Another one in the "way too sweet" category. aubreya (676), Chapel Hill, North Carolina, USA Aug 24, 2008 Pours a golden brown. No head. The aroma has honey and alcohol. The flavor has alcohol, honey, tea, lemon. The palate is smooth and thick. The finish is sweet. acrdz (4392), Boulder, Colorado, USA Aug 5, 2008 Still body, honey colored orange, very viscous and thick in the glass, with an oily texture, clinging to the sides of the glass with strength. Nose of resinous honey, it seems like the actual flavor and smell of a real honeycomb just shines through so strongly in this mead, it’s the dominant flavor and is quite impressive. Thick, medium sweetness, I guess as far as meads go, with notes of white wine and perfume playing around with the raw honey/comb/beehive nature of this thing. Just really wonderful in all aspects. roder_60 (872), Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA Jul 27, 2008 Pours clear birght orange with no head. Aroma very sweet honey and slight alcohol. Flavor very sweet and totally hides abrasive alcohol presence often found in other drinks of abv. Very good mead.
