| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Aug 22, 2007 Bottle: Dark bourbon color, thick legs. Nose of bright varnished wood and thick sundried honey. Caramelized and light soy notes. Some more sweet floral notes and an overwhelming amount of umami and honey. The flavor is sweet and chewy, strong and very oxidized and sherryish. Finishes long and drawn out. Interesting mead, complex but not incredibly balanced. Hot and sweet. Yum. | 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Jun 12, 2007 This is an extremely sweet mead, this recipe used more honey than water in comparison to most meads. The honey is the first flavor and is dominate throughout the entire rating. There is some tastes of spices and fruits. but the honey is the real winner. the alcohol is even constant without a big punch. The is a keeper. nick76 (2684), Tampa, Florida, USA
