Suttree (2275), Knoxville, Tennessee, USA Nov 7, 2005 Orangey copper, and completely still. So clear it practically glows in the glass. Woodsy, perfumey honey aroma, and it smells old, too. Honey aroma, of course, but aso a whiskey-ish aroma, too, and maybe some maple syrup. I should note that my notes say it smells like pipe tobacco in a leather pouch, and that I completely, 100% stole that line from Springslicker. But it is accurate. The flavors mirror the aroma almost to a "T", with a touch more alcohol. As it warms, however, the alcohol fades a bit and the flavors meld together even better. Very, very impressive. Big thanks to Springslicker for sharing!
douglas88 (708), Salt Lake City, Utah, USA Aug 10, 2008 Bottle shared by footbalm. Pours a light copper color with no head. Interestingly, this beer leaves a silky honey coating on the glass that slowly slides down, like syrup. The aroma is very boozy; some sourness and spices, like apple cider. The taste was very sweet; a sweet honey explosion, honey glazed raspberries, smooth, very dangerous stuff. A sticky mouthfeel, lip-smacking stuff for sure. Very nice. Enjoyable and interesting. Thanks Eric. BMan1113VR (762), Los Angeles (and Dallas, TX), California, USA Aug 8, 2008 750 Bottle thanks to pepsican. Amazing stuff. Thick pour that is an amber-rose color. Huge, perfectly formed alcohol legs. Aroma is honey, raspberries and alcohol. Taste is huge, syrupy honey, with amazingly fresh raspberry taste. Absolutely out standing. Mouthfeel is completely coating, like drinking honey. Truely the nectar of the gods! Doppelganger (1112), Oxford, Oxfordshire, England Jul 17, 2008 Bottle, at cgarvieuk’s, with Stella, the kids, and Traci. Really great tasting Craig—thanks! It was a totally unexpected surprise to be able to have a taste of this. Lovely peach color. Nose is concentrated essense of wild flower honey, and a tawny port plum quality. Wonderfully thick perfume sweetness, musky rich and luxurious.. Sweet enough to be dessert, but enough acidity and cleanness to the finish to keep it from being candy.
