Taste is smooth honey, rasperries, green apples, and just a hint of alcohol. Full sweet mouthfeel with the alcohol being very well hidden. Damn good. blackmurder (170), sadf, Hawaii, USA

I would rate it higher in flavor but it has a mild alcohol burn that is not masked very well. LOL BlackForestCO (828), Fort Collins, Colorado, USA

My first mead as well, but I doubt it will be the last. Poured a thick copper color. Strong aroma of alcohol with some light honey in the background. Flavor consists of a sweet, light honey-caramel with nice hints of berries and light apple. Thick, slick mouthfeel. Very, very good. Just wish the aroma wasn’t so alcohol-heavy. | 4.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 5/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 18/20 | Mar 30, 2008 Deep, coppery red hue; still. Big honey, butterscotch and toffee aroma...massive waves of almonds and cherries...almost a touch of chocolate...marzipan and perhaps even some liquorice. Restrained (compared to the nose) raisin-y sweet flavour is big on the fruit (lots of cherries) and almonds. Totally silky with a huge dessert Sherry vibe. Full bodied with a velvety / creamy texture; still. A remarkable piece of art, I’d have taken more notes if not completely engrossed by it’s beauty. Limitless depth, mind-boggling. Thanks Jukkabro. | 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 5/5 | 15/20 | Mar 29, 2008 Dark coppery colored, no head. Well, extremely rich aroma with lots of honey, peach, raisins and nice raspberry-berriness, convenient, weirdly burning alcohol present in aroma
also with vinous port tone. Medium to full bodied, very soft and smooth palated. Flavor is much more sweet with dominating honey and these raspberries, alcohol covered totally. Aftertaste has still dominating raspberries with sticky palate. Sugary stuff, aroma is not so sweet than flavor. Great brew though. bdigital (590), Ft Wayne, Indiana, USA
| 4.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 3/5 | 10/10 | 5/5 | 19/20 | Mar 18, 2008 Updated: Apr 8, 2008’04 Bottle: Thanks to sprinkle for still having a few of these left at his store. I’ve been waiting quite some time to try this and finally...the time has come. Pours a rich, deep golden color. One of the first things I noticed about this was the transparent film it leaves on the snifter as it’s swirled and the aroma that hits the nose from about 10 feet away. The initial alcohol burn invades the olfactory region and quickly fades to a rich, dark honey sensation with soft herbal-like qualities and some cream notes. Very thick mouth feel, almost too syrup-like but still amazing. Sweet, dark, floral honey pretty much overwhelms the taste but their are some brown sugar and ?banana? notes present that give it some additional complexity. Well...enough rambling, this is amazing! I naturally would prefer it to be a bit drier but that’s just nitpicking...which is totally unnecessary. cmr1517 (35), New Haven, Indiana, USA

Lees Harvest Ale (Sherry). Mahogany in color. Its alchol content was not well hidden; was very overpowering at first. Very sweet and syrupy. This was an amazing experience and mead.
