Sweet sherry-like aroma with a nice floral scent. Flavor was much more complex than I ever expected. Honey, sweet sherry, raisins and what flowers might taste like if I had ever eaten one. Can not drink more than 2 or 3 ounces at a time. This would be nice sipping by a fire on a cold night.

Dark Amber, long legs.
Spiced and wooden (oaky) aroma.
Slightly roasted, fruity and spicy. Sweet, but nor cloyingly so like other meads - the balance is right here. Fat mouthfeel. Rose aftertaste.
The first mead I have tried that I really liked.

Aroma is honey, raisins, figs, pear, sweet.Taste is same though mostly just taste honey at first. then lots going on. What is so awesome about this is how damn SMOOTH it was. Perfect after dinner treat. Very sweet, but enough flavor to be enjoyed. Alc is present but def. doesnt stand out like other meads ive had. 2 or 3 ounces at a time. beerhandy (195), Tulsa, Oklahoma, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Apr 6, 2005 Pours like wesson oil ..its darker than that though bordering deep gold and light copper. The odor is meadowish almost like it has been strained through hay.The taste is sugar ,straw (wheat) and alcohol. The honey is present but the earthy grassiness really is the main flavor.Mouthfeel : it is syrup very cordial like.Great after dinner shot for sipping you really wouldnt want to drink a bunch at once. Its a little too cloying. | 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 18/20 | Apr 2, 2005 Updated: Jun 10, 2007Thanks to John for sharing! This stuff cam be summed up with "alcoholic sugar", but we’ll go into detail anyway. Viscous brown body. Spicy alcohol, dry grass honey in the aroma. The booze wins this round. The honey comes out more in the flavor. Brown sugar, powdered sugar. Overbearingly sweet and alcoholic.
6/10/2007 - Upped the score from a 3.3. The qualities are the same just less annoying this time. JCapriotti (1378), Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA
