Aroma is sweet of honey and fruit possibly apples. Wow is it sweet but not too sweet if taken in very small doses. Flavor is soft and complex, honey, dried fruit, and some caramel overtones. Feels like 151 going down my throat yet alcohol is very well hidden in the flavor. I could see this being a beer drinker’s Port. Excellent actually. mabel (2626), Toronto, Ontario, Canada

Clear, golden amber red body with no head. Super sweet thick sherry flavour with a long sweet finish and floral grape aftertaste. Thick medium body. Not even boozy, just all sweet and goodness.

Overheard: "The sugar’s making me happy." "The alcohol’s making me mad."

Aroma is so dense and complex, so much going on. Lots of thick, sticky honey, woody, wildflowers, obviously alcohol, and a touch of berries. Flavor is major alcohol, super sweet and sticky with honey, florals, some berries, and more alcohol. So sweet that it makes my stomach hurt, but I just want to drink more. So velvety and rich. pnista (1008), Bloomington, Indiana, USA

Pours a darkish golden reddish brown, perfectly still. Full broad honey sweet. Alcohol. Full honey richness and yet slightly ethereal and otherworldly. Raspberry is definitely in there. Fuller rich flat body. Full deep sweet honey over light raspberry. Some brown sugar and perhaps even a slight hint of light molasses. Treacle or demerara might be a bit closer perhaps. Lingering honey stays for some time. Have to drink this like good liquor! fiver29 (736), Cleveland, Ohio, USA
| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 17/20 | Mar 21, 2009 Bottle pours dark red/amber color with no carbonation. Aroma is strong dessert wine, or very boozy. Pours in the glass and coats it like syrup. When I swirl it in my snifter it has legs. Very heavy mouthfeel. Flavor is very complex. Alcohol, an almond or nutty flavor, very sweet from the honey, and finishes with some alcohol heat. This reminds me more of a Port Wine than a mead. And its a fine one at that! robinvboyer (1444), Sturgeon Falls, Ontario, Canada
| 4.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 10/10 | 5/5 | 19/20 | Feb 26, 2009 very dark amber pour, with a nose of BOOZE. ok the flavour is so complex, there is so much going on i dont know how descriptive this review will be. the aroma again, is quite boozy, but there are notes of honey, raspberries, and more BOOZE! oh, have i mentionned his smells boozy?! The flavor though is where this drink shines. The flavour is silky homey. It just coats my throat, sweet honey, mild, but also strong. There is a nice alcohol burn mixed with a nice sweet/tart berries finish. this is quite complex. there is so much moe going on but i cont put my finger on it. All i can think of is honey, berries, flowers, and BOOZE. this is an incredible drink! garthicus (1340), Toronto, Ontario, Canada

Aroma: Port, honey, cherry, dark fruit, like old spice. Awesome. Flavour: WOW - my teeth are going to fall out of my head... sugar, honey, maple syrup, clover, rosehip, acid. Just incredible. poolboy (66), Lafayette, Indiana, USA

I like this so much I keep some of it around most of the time. To me, it tastes like sherry wine with honey. You sip this rather than "drink" it. Very silky and smooth in the mouth. So good I usually hold it my mouth a bit before swallowing. A bit expensive but very highly recommended. I have no other mead that come close to this.
