(Bottle 75 cl) Clear golden with a somewhat rustic earthy aroma before a warm and spicy honey note sets in. Lovely sweet flower accents with plenty of sweet honey without ever getting real sticky. Warming alcohol in the finish. 290608

Bottle brown, 250 ml
Appearance: Pours shiny golden - Bohemian Pilsener like in colour, body with rosy to orangy hue, medium bodied, body is clear and flat, not very oily, but oilyness is more visible towards the surface, density is average.
Aroma: Some notes of fruits, wildberries, strawberries and honey well balanced in, sweet, quite well balnced with some gentle notes of alcohol being nicely build in, some warmth, some simple perfume, a bit flowery, but some acetonic notes when the mead becomes warmer.
Flavour: Initially sweet and than accidic with some sour accents, than when you swallow the mead texture seems more wattery than oily. Aromatic fruity nose (hints of strawberry, wildberry, winegrapes) and natural honey on palate, sweet flowery hints.
Palate: Palate is far from stickness, rather sweet in flavour, but mildly sour and mildly accidic on palate, like not rape, young fruits are felt on your tongue. This discrapancy between flavour and palate is interesting, but there is something that makes you aware of some lack of harmony in it. Lightly alcoholic. Texture is in between wattery and oily, body is medium. Finish feel is a bit soury, accidic.

RBESG2008: 75 cL bottle. Pours clear and almost golden yellow with lacing white head. Smooth honey aroma, light spiced. Sweet honey and light spiced. Smooth and sweet flavoured. Ends mild spiced and very very smooth with a hard to catch alcohol note.

Bottle, RBESG08 grand tasting.
Oooh my first Apis mead. Poured a golden body. Alcohol and honey in the nose.Very sweet and very good honey taste. Still, as some have said, a bit one dimensional. can’t wait to try their other meads.

Bottle @ the RBESG08 Grand Tasting.
Pours clear golden with no head. Aroma has flowers, honey and light caramel. Oily mouthfeel. Flavour is very sweet, powerfully vinious, lightly herbal. A touch too sweet And one-sided.
