Bottled. Clear golden colour. Aroma from honey, oak and roses, Vineous flavour, and the sweetness is just in the background. Most prominent here is the elegant touch of roses(I guess this is what they refer to as herbs) and peary lemonade. This is a fantastic mead, not at all so sugary as its brothers. Incredibly well balanced without that sugary honey sweetness.

Sampled at the RBESG08 grand tasting. Clear golden. Vinous, fruity, with some vague honey notes and sherry. Medium bodied and smooth. Quite dry which is good i.m.o. Rated 8/3/8/4/15. Second rating from gnoff’s bottle.

Bottle, RBESG08 grand tasting.
Oooh my first Apis mead. Poured a golden body. Alcohol and honey in the nose.Very sweet and very good honey taste. Still, as some have said, a bit one dimensional. can’t wait to try their other meads.

RBESG2008: 75 cL bottle. Pours clear and almost golden yellow with lacing white head. Smooth honey aroma, light spiced. Sweet honey and light spiced. Smooth and sweet flavoured. Ends mild spiced and very very smooth with a hard to catch alcohol note.

(Bottle, Akkurat, Stockholm 14 Sep 2007) Golden yellow colour with no head. Fruity, slightly sour nose with notes of honey and a hint of dissolvent. Fruity, sweet taste with honey, herbs and ripe Kaiser Alexander pears. Full body and very sweet. Very nice mead.

Bottled. Golden colour with a no foam. Sweet, peppery and a bit alcoholic aroma of honey, smoke, flowers, white sugar and cookies. Full, sweet flavour of honey, apricots, yellow plums and flowers. Amazingly well-hidden alcohol. Honey and orange-blossom and herbs in the long aftertaste. A really nice surprise, since I’m not a huge fan of sweet honey.

250ml bottle (fancy drink ship in Warsaw)
A pale gold nectar. Very mellow, but spicily woody, honey aroma. Smooth and silky in the mouth. Some light fruity retronasals - maybe apple and a touch of cinnamon. Alas a tiny hint of plastic too, but I think that’s some heavy organics from the barrels. Almost a slight burntness to some of the sips. A touch sweet, but utterly delicious, and with no hint of the alcohol apart from a pleasant warming.
