Jmichael (523), Asheville, North Carolina, USA Jan 23, 2008 I had a hard time finding this since they call it the ESB on the tap, but it is technically "ESB Belgian Gold Ale". Anyway. pours a copper with full white head. smooth hoppy aroma. light front to dry finish. hoppy background. kp (5800), Woodstock, Georgia, USA Sep 30, 2007 Name: Belgian Golden Ale
Date: 09/22/2007
Mode: Draft
Source: Brewfest, Asheville
hazy dark gold, fine white head, streaky lace,
sweet fruity ester aroma with light phenolic spices,
thin but creamy body,
estery malt flavor is a bit hot, lots of bitterness flows from the spicyness and becomes the dominant character, long bitter finish,
too heavy on the phenolics

00cobraR (889), Greensboro, North Carolina, USA Sep 24, 2007 Pours out a yellow color with a large white head. Aroma is sweet and fruity. Flavor is pretty much the same with a nice touch of spice to it. Over all not a bad brew and rather refreshing. Suttree (2194), Knoxville, Tennessee, USA Sep 24, 2007 Yellow, big frothy head. Aroma is apple-y, with some banana and bubble gum notes. Perhaps a bit thin bodied. Flavor is fruity, spicy even a little bit herbal. Clean, crisp finish. Sampled at Asheville Brewgrass 2007.
