Commercial Description:
This classic English style was once the largest selling beer in the UK. Now, we bring you a tasty keg conditioned version. We age this beer to perfection and hit it with a dose of high krausen. Then the beer ages at cellar temperature until it is ready to serve. The English malt and hops we use in this Extra Special Bitter develop a perfect blend sweetness and bitterness. Its smoothness is very enjoyable.

Draft at Appalachian BC. Large ivory fizzy head that was mostly lasting, fine-large sized bubbles, sparse lacing, minimal carbonation, transparent, and a golden hue. Aroma was malty and hoppy. Malty, bitter flavor. Tingly palate. Medium body.

Orange color. Creamy head. Light hop aroma. More of an American ESB. I prefer the brittish work on this style. Althought I have to say the quality was there compared to the Flying Fish ESB I had tried a minute earlier.

This draft brew from the brewery poured a very large sized head of foamy finely sized mostly diminishing off-white colored bubbles that left behind an unnoted lacing. The body contained soft carbonation, was hazy and golden in color. Its aroma contained notes of mild malts and hops. Its mouth feel is initially slightly tingly and flat with a lingering finish that lacks crispmess and is too thick with heavy malts and a mild bitter aftertaste. Its flavor contained bitter malty notes. A below average brew.

Draught. At the Penn Brew fest 6-4-05. I really liked this one. Dark amber and with a nice malty, hoppy nose. Some caramel flavors with a good solid hop bite. I loved the balance of this and it was perfectly carbonated. The folks from the brewery were good sports and kept the beers flowing as well. I liked this one a lot.

Not a bad beer but a little lighter in body than I remember most ESB’s. The flavor was good but seemed to be less robust than the English versions. Better to call this an American ESB.

Yess! I was the first to try this new addition to the fine family of ABC brews. Poured a semi-dark amber color with an effervescent off-white head which, when through cascading, remained for the ride down the edge of the glass. Not-so-strong malt and some grassy hop aromas present . Smoooooth from start to finish. Excellent session beer.
