Commercial Description:
This malty lager is deep golden in color and medium in body. The finish holds a bold sweetness that is balanced by a subtele hop flavor and aroma.

On tap at brewpub in gettysburg golden color with a off-white lacing. Aroma was malty with a slight hop presence. Flavor was sweet with a hoppy finish.

Poured clear lightish orange with no head. I could tell that this one’s been around for a while by the extreme lack of carbonation. For a second, I really thought that I was drinking sweetened iced tea.

On tap at brewpub (Harrisburg). Light orange/copper body with a small off-white head, slightly hazy. Very fruity aroma, with caramel and toffee and light alcohol. Very sweet malty flavor, but with lots of alcohol on the finish. Medium bodied, nice mouthfeel up front, but a little fizzy on the tongue in the back end. Not the most impressive Maibock, and from the commercial description it looks like the excessive sweetness is their aim so I guess it’s just not the beer for me.

Tap at Appalaichan Brewpub. Straw/copper blonde. Tight white head. Fruity-yeast, near belgian aroma. Bready flavor, like a good hearty seedy triangle roll. Medium bodied, honeyish finish. smooth-dough. OK!

Loads of sweetness right off the bat, followed by warming alcohol. Mild German hoppiness. Finishes too hot in the alcohol department.

A little too sweet and cloying for my liking. You can also notice the alcohol at the end. Needs a bigger body and more mouthfeel from more munich malts and the like. Other than that it starts off pretty good but finishes a bit bland.

Draft at Appalachian BC. Medium off-white head that was mostly lasting, fine-small sized bubbles, sparse lacing, uncarbonated, transparent, and a yellow hue. Light, sweet malty aroma. Sweet, malty and some fruit flavoring. Tingly, thin mouthfeel. Light body.

From growler. Has a decent fruity aroma, apple Jolly Rancher, apricot. Mild caramel malts. Hazy amber brown with thin foamy lacing head. Light watery body with medium carbonation. Sweet throughout, mild alcohol and caramel. Very little bitterness in finish, fruity quality. Watery with carbonate saltiness in after. Overall, a bit weak and watery but nothing special.
